Covid, LockDown, Riots and freezing weather!

It's been a tough time...


I recently chatted to one of our client's here at FitFirst and she was kind enough to allow me to share her story with you.

Read it here (hopefully it will inspire you as much as it did me):

"It's been a really tough year for me.

I started the 2021 super positively, you know after 2020 I felt like it could only get better...

I was wrong.

I lost someone to Covid in Jan. And I was just in such a bad space.

I started training at FitFirst because my friends said "exercise would help"...

But I felt like nothing could help me.

At the beginning, I hated it! It felt like torture!

Trying to wake up early when it's dark and freezing cold was hard.

And I'd gained so much weight... I hated myself...

But I did it. I got up and made it to (most) of the classes I booked.

Sometimes Coach Nic had to push me extra hard to get through the workout, but I did it!

And it started feeling less like torture... I actually started enjoying myself - which I never thought was possible, I'm not an "gym" person.

But guess what!? I can do a box jump now!

Exercise hasn't made my problems go away, but it's helped me feel better about myself.

If I feel good about myself, I feel like I make better decisions and that just makes everything better.

I'm so happy that I started exercising - those 30 minutes a day have helped so much. It's really become "my time".

Plus, I've lost some weight and can fit into jeans that I haven't worn since 2019!"

If ever there was a time to "make time for yourself" and exercise, it's now.
